Ha, reminds me of a service call several year ago.
Put a new line in for a horsey gal. Drain back curb stop, new waterer, 20x20 pad,she
Spared no expense.
She called a several months later reading me the riot act. Water bill was outragous, pipe was leaking,
mud hole forming next to the concrete. To top it off, water was leaking through the wall in the basement.
After a little investigation, turns out she only had the valve open half way. Allowed the curb stop
to spew water under pressure for months.

She thought it only need to be open a little.........she only had one horse!

Reminds me of anther one, gal had froze her water up, friend told her a light bulb
would keep it thawed out.....might have worked, if she hadn't used a curly fluorescent :)
