Alexandria, IN (East Central Indiana) | For backstory we currently run a couple of FMXs and use WM-Drain on one of them. We have the main receiver RTK unlocked and steer the tile plow tractor with it but run a third party RTK receiver over Bluetooth to a Parani adapter hooked to the FMX to control the plow. This is a Reach RS receiver and this setup works great. Since we are not steering with the second receiver Trimble allows a third party (non TSIP) receiver in this application to run the implement positioning. This saves a considerable amount of $$ not unlocking that internal secondary receiver from Trimble.
Now to tru guide. Does anyone know if the second receiver on a 2050 must be TSIP message compliant to work with Tru guide? My feelings are that likely the answer is yes since technically it's steering in this application but I just wondered if anyone has Tru guide unlocked and has tried a third party receiver? The primary steering the tractor of course will be the unlocked internal receiver on RTK.
