Excessive thirst and urination is a symptom of diabetes. Even if a person has normal A1C they can still have big sugar spikes and when there is excess sugar in the urine the kidneys will try to get rid of it. If a person does not have the above problems Dr Ken Berry says not to drink anything two hours before bedtime. But I have a hard time with that one. I drink right up to when I go to bed so I usually have to get up once in the middle of the night. Of course my sugar levels are not perfect yet either so that likely is a contributing factor. Excessive caffeine at night? Like pop or coffee. Excess sugar like a big desert or jelly sandwich? I know they make pills to help with frequent urination but that I know nothing about. John
