Sanilac Co. Michigan
I'm thinking the shoe on a 40 came standard like on a 50, so if it has them remove the cookie sheets from the very bottom of the shoe and from the floor under the sieve so the perforated panels are exposed to let dirt and little fines fall to the ground instead of being carried up to the grain tank. Yes if it has it, lock the v/s feeder house sheave in its slowest position. Maybe look at the front setting on your concave and set a bit more open than "Mid" if the crop is super dry.
