Subject: RE: John Burns-question on HS athletics

Pittsburg, Kansas

Not really. I would leave the HS athletics up to the parents that want to support them.

As far as a ketogenic diet, I don't think it would hurt anyone compared to the standard American diet. When we are young we can tolerate a lot more abuse to our bodies before it catches up to us so young people can eat crap food for quite a while before they have severe problems. I did. But as far as I am concerned a ketogenic diet is the normal diet humans should eat. All the highly processed carbohydrates and vegetable oils have only been around the last 100 or 200 years. A blip in time compared to the evolution of humans. Today's standard recommended diet is the fad diet.

Babies are in ketosis in the womb and nursing babies are in ketosis (breast milk is very high in saturated fat). I see no reason school age children would not be better off also. But that is just my opinion, nothing else.

John
