Subject: FAT vs exFAT

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I got some new USB sticks from China. Around 124 Gb each . They were formatted and I put some music on them with my Win 10 desktop computer for use in a Jensen radio in a tractor, my Ford Edge and my Chevrolet Silverado. The sticks behave as expected in my Win 10 computers.

The Jensen radio in the tractor and the factory radio in the Silverado show error messages when trying to use the first one. Upon checking properties I notice that these sticks are formatted with exFAT whereas other sticks that do work are formatted with FAT. I did a search on FAT vs exFAT and sort of follow it.

I thought maybe I should format the sticks with FAT rather than exFAT. My Win 10 machine only gives me the option of exFAT or NTFS. I guess I'll try NTFS. It's not a big deal if these sticks don't work with music in the vehicles as I have other sticks that work fine.

Any thoughts?
