Subject: RE: Why do people ruin everything with hot spices?

Windom, MN
My wife and kids have what I call vanilla tongue. They can't stand any spice. They eat steak with ranch, don't know if that's an Iowa thing (wife is an Iowa native), but to me it's a little different. The younger one may have some potential, she is willing to try the spicier food and seems to like it, but she's only 9 so she still prefers things mild.

I used to really love hot stuff, but not so offensively hot. Had to have some flavor too. Restaurant near me has hot wings and their hottest sauce isn't real spicy (hotter than most, but mild compared to the hottest sauces), but has a nice smoky flavor to it as well.

Unfortunately as I've gotten older the real spicy food doesn't agree with me. Used to eat buffalo wild wings and get the mango habanero sauce. I really like that sauce, but now it gives me a stomach ache. Sriracha sauce is starting to give me issues now as well.
