northeastern Ohio | According to the article in our newspaper today:
"The Republican governor said he took a test arranged by the White House in Cleveland as part of standard protocol before he was to meet Trump at an airport in Cleveland. He had planned to join the president on a visit to the Whirlpool Corp. plant in northwest Ohio. Instead, he received the news he was positive"
He then returned to his farm in Cedarville to quarantine for 14 days. He then was tested using the test that he normally uses. He tested negative.
I have not seen specific information, but perhaps one test was a PCR and the other was an antigen test. Or perhaps two different types of antigen tests. PCR tests look for the presence of a
virus’s genetic material, while antigen tests look for specific proteins on a virus’s surface. Antigen tests produce results more quickly, but may be less sensitive.
There seems to be a lot of differences in the test results depending on the test used and the lab used. | |
