We are about there now with the new Deere planters. Our 2018 model year 1795e planter can only be run with a 4640 screen. We have to pay a subscription fee for it to function. So our planter will not plant without paying the subscription.
This is blatantly incorrect. Your planter will plant just fine without a subscription. You don’t need to pay annually to put seed in the ground. What you pay for is the capability to shut off the individual rows, which saves you money, likely a lot more put in your pocket than the $850 taken out.
