| I am pretty sure my mother made sweet pickles the same with many days of changing boiling water etc.
Dill pickles were relatively quick. The things I recall going in the jar were whole bigger Cucs, clove of garlic, dill from garden, and the best ones had wild grape leaves added also. Other things were probably added. Her dills were known and coveted throughout the area.
Always said we should have marketed them, but had no idea how. That chapter and recipe is forever gone now. | |
