Gettysburg, PA

Gettysburg, Fairfield and south has been hit hard. Less than an inch of rain in 2 months. Finally a decent rain Saturday and more today. In these areas, the corn is done I'm sure. It might put on some tonnage for silage but no ears worth mentioning. Heck two weeks ago some dairies in that area were considering chopping what was out there saying it was dry enough. One farmer said at that time he probably would make 6 ton/acre....

Other parts of the county north and east have faired much better. A few weeks back we got 0.4 inches in Gettysburg and Hanover (15 miles east) got 3.5 inches!!! Seems like all these storms coming from the west get "broke up" by the South Mountains and skips over most of Adams County and then come together again for rain in York and Lancaster.
