Most rye seed I have seen is longer than wheat seed. Always thought rye was bigger but lighter.
We manually count a couple of lots of 1/4 # lots of the wheat and rye we raise to plant . Some years there is a variation wheat having fair amount less seeds per pound . And many years they are similar both at 15,000. We do a germ test and plant 1.5 to 1.75 million viable seeds ,for cereals . Our drill has no scale we calibate and check often using the gps on the tractor .
