When we grew lentils we cut them with our 8820 only thing we did was shorten the chains on the header to make the table steeper. That will make your cutter bar closer to the ground. We also have a 6400 white (macdon) have not swathed lentils with it but did cut soybean when we started growing them. Only trouble with the white it will not cut heavy wet canola the hyd draper motors don't have enough power and they stop. You swathed soybeans? If so, how’d that turn out? Always kinda wondered how that might work on a field with tough green stems back in the day before we had the really good bean heads and reversers on combines. |
