We found it was worth it for the bottom 10% or so. Figure a lot of them are going to wash out if they don't catch on their first available cycle normally so anything helps. We tried to back them up to about day 40 or so of a 65-70 day calving window. These most all would have calved last 10-14 days of the season. If we weren't letting the bulls do the inseminating I probably wouldn't bother because AI rate is too low as it is on top of not all the cidr's working and already being late calvers, which usually means older more malnourished cows.
