SW Iowa
Is corn priced in China at $8/bu at the port, or $8/bu at some interior, small town, country distributor? I can see it taking $2/bu to get the boat off loaded to a large holding facility, then load out a train for a major interior distribution terminal, then load out truck loads to small distributors within the countryside. I can see it costing the small end user $8/bu then...but the port price should be $6.00/bu without all the transporting, loading, and off loading costs involved.
