S.E. Iowa | Shut water off, open hydrant, put a pipe wrench on the pipe in the ground and a large crescent on hydrant. Screw off head. Inspect plug and see it is bad. Replace parts, you can get them for 20 buck of online. Before putting back together, turn water on to flush out debris. Lube plug and put back together. If i dig them up, i can rebuild them for less than 40 bucks. It is the same as new. I put new pipe in and wrap with tar before installing. On the last one i did i used a stainless rod instead of 3/8 pipr | |
