Subject: RE: Dog days of summer algae & scum

Southeast Ohio
I've used copper sulfate for the floating filamentous algae. But last year I said the heck with spending money and jumped in with a 3' landscape rake and flipped it on shore. Algae gone. $$ saved. My pond is only 1.5 ac , so not a big job. some pipe insulation or a kids floating noodle zip tied to the rake head would have made the job easier.
