North Central Kansas | There are times when it would be good to know how many bushels are being loaded from the grain cart into the truck. A good cart operator can get a fairly good idea just by observing the height of the "piles" compared to a known load, for example. There are other times, however, when that doesn't work so well such as when you can't see into the truck.
I'm wondering if there are any apps out there utilizing a stopwatch function that, when calibrated to a particular grain (think test weight :)) and RPM, would read out in bushels loaded on the truck or wherever the grain is being deposited. The app would ideally keep a running tally of bushels until reset when a new load is started. A total cumulative for a field might be handy also.
I realize that scales are very handy but not always available.
The same app might be used when transferring grain from combine to cart or combine to truck. The question, "do you have enough to fill the truck" comes up often when a truck needs to "get on the road ASAP".
Seems like this type of app might even be useful when loading trucks out of a bin.
