Yes, there can be a huge difference in doctors. Some are very open and some are wayyy to set in their ways.
When we were trying to figure out what dad had going on(severe, very random, shoots of pain running from his jaw/sinus areas up into the top of his head). He went to 4 or 5 different doctors at different times(very random sharp, drop you to your knees pain). One even suggested to go to a psychiatrist. Finally the 5th or maybe 6th doctor he lucked out with and knew of the problem(actually very common problem at that, and was noted in reports all the way back into the 1800's even) Got everything figured out, is on a couple meds that help alleviate his issues. Hopefully they work until the day he passes. It is trigeminal neuralgia. Basically the insulation of the bloodvessels is wore down and pressure is applied to those vessels and shoots pain up into your brain. Sort of short circuits it. A LOT more people have it than we actually knew.
