I wouldn't bother with all the effort to delete Edge. I'd just set my favorite browser to default, and ignore all the requests to set Edge to default. I also deleted the Edge shortcut, so I never see it. I don't see many websites anymore that ask you to use Edge. I've never had any problems with Chrome.
