East central iowa | I like doing basis contracts myself. So I did a basis contract on 13000 bushel of soybeans for last half of September. 11 cents under, if for some reason I can’t get them by then I will pay the increase in basis at the time I locked it in. (16 cents) so if I delivered after October 1st I pay 16 under. I have until October 30th to set futures price. As far as rolling into next year I have no clue, never dabbled with that. But usually you will pay difference in basis. Being that far out they usually don’t get to aggressive with the basis not knowing the demand that far out. I have not locked my futures in yet and am currently regretting that tonight!!!! Good luck | |
