Bremer County, Iowa | Remind me how a basis contract works. Currently fall basis at local E plant is 30 cent under. I believe this is 10 cent better then normal. I was thinking of doing a basis contract for fall at the 30 cent so then I can deliver out of the field for fall correct? If I don't want to set my futures in the fall month I can roll into next year? Do I have to pay a fee to do this? Is it added on to my basis? Say goes from 30 to 40 to roll it to January I just have to price it by end of January? Whats everyone's thoughts on a basis contract? Can you get a coop/ end user to give you a bump if you throw a bunch of bu at them? What can a guy get for a bump for a large amount of bushels? Ended up being a few more questions in here but you guys are the experts! TIA | |
