Have a R60 and an White 2600 - early R62 but with a Cummins. R60 has some upgrades over the N’s, stuff like the auger swivel and I believe the discharge area are a slight upgrade. Very simple to work on and maintain. Stay ahead of oil leaks on the Deutz. Let them warm up a bit when you start them - I always keep mine at a high idle unless it has to start in the winter for some reason. Some Deutz’s can heat up too much at a low idle, fan doesn’t move enough air. Cost wise the RX2’s are a big jump over the older R’s, making the jump isn’t always feasible. If you have to go for an older one, pretty easy to see if it’s been abused or run hard.
