| In Michigan under part 127 the well casing must be a minimum of 25’ from the ground to the top of the screen.
Also, the neighbors with their sand point wells are drinking ground water under the influence of surface water. Or in other words, they are drinking right out of the lake. Without treatment you are susceptible to a large number of waterborne illness. In my opinion it’s not worth the risk to get soft water. Get a removal system installed and you will be much happier and remove much of the risk of dysentery.
