If you are planning on restoring it you might as well start tearing it down. Especially if it truly has not turned over in nearly 50 years. If just wanting to mess with it and get it unstuck give it more time and mess with it every couple days. Do not get in a hurry, if plugs came out after soaking for a couple minutes it might come loose pretty easy.
