W Texas
I’m looking at a used 1590 and it needs new new disk openers and few other things.

One major concern is maybe 3” average up and down slop on seed boots. I’ve watched some YouTube videos, etc. and it seems like quite a project. Took a few of the boots off and they are mounted on middle hole mount, which is ovaled out pretty good.

Bottom holes are pristine.

If I want to plant alfalfa and small grass seed for now, would it be easiest to just buy new bolts and move seed boots to bottom hole?

How deep can you plant if boots are on bottom hole? I’m in the desert and will typically be planting high and dry and watering up, with small grains.
