If you're going by the thermometer in the lid yes it will take you longer than that if you just set the temperature and go you'll get done in their time but the thermometer in the lid is going to be 400 on the temperature and the grill surface is 225 and that's where the probe for the burner is located, just to the side of the grill surface. At least that's the way mine is.
Also if you're one of those guys has to open and look a lot it's going to take a whole lot more time they're a set it have forget it grill. Get a remote read probe thermometer to put in your meat and go by that.
He's talking about the cabinet smoker, not the grill style, there is no 'lid' thermometer..... |
