Not quite. But close. Local place has a straight truck with 3 hopper bins on it and an air system, they set up your salt tank, and then do bulk refills every so often. Not sure if they are any cheaper, never bothered to check, I think they are going for the convenience factor. They may even have multiple trucks going nowadays.
In my former life, we would have a semi with hopper trailer deliver salt for the brine system. Ice cream plants use a lot of salt. Friend of mine used to own a car wash, they use a lot of salt also in the softener also, he would negotiate pallet pricing.
