Central Nebr | FWIW - over the years I've used Morton's cubes, regular old white block salt (fill in with cubes), and 0-0-62 white potassium fertilizer from the Co-op - whichever I thought was the cheapest. I've had the same "on demand recharge" Sears water softener discharging everything into a septic system since 1990 and it's survived three children now all out on their own. The ONLY thing I've ever done to it was install a "rebuild" kit of gaskets, back probably around 1994.
I've gone back to the Morton bags, just because a bag lasts alot longer with just Ma & Me, and it's quicker/easier to pick it up at WalMart or Menards rather than going through the hassle of getting the block (no livestock) or fertilizer (find clean buckets & shovel). | |
