I thought this presentation by researcher Dr Benjamin Bikman had an interesting chart starting at about minute 3. The chart shows different causes of mortality. Compares the relevance of diabetes in relation to other health problems that have been in the news a lot lately. Also a study that shows 88% of US adults are metabolically unfit at about minute 4.

This presentation would mostly benefit non-diabetics to help them understand how to keep from becoming diabetic. But unfortunately few will probably take heed. It is a technical explanation but Bikman brings it down to a level about anyone can understand. A must watch for diabetics if they want to understand their disease. Once a person understands the disease, it becomes much easier to understand the mechanism to help control and reverse its effects.
