just a tish NE of central ND | The crown sheet is(probably?)not the weakest spot and the flues are all below the top of it. Its the hottest spot though when the boiler runs low on water. My take on it is the the crown sheet does not rupture, but becomes much like a hot (dry)frying pan and makes super fast steam and spikes boiler pressure when water touches it.The super heated "fast dry steam builds faster than the pop off valve can relieve the pressure....... boom!
