Went to Maine years ago at the end of July and toured Bar Harbor and Acadia. At one of the stops on Acadia there was a beach with a fair number of people swimming so we thought why not. This southerner got in to his ankles and that was a far as I could go. It's a beautiful state and a nice place to visit in the right season but I'm not tough enough to live there.
