I haven’t found a specific diagram but I have found mention of using a relief valve between the ports of the apron cylinder. Thanks to your post now I know the correct terminology to use.

I haven’t found any mention of a check valve to eliminate the resulting vacuum in that cylinder though. Is it necessary? Does it matter if the cylinder is under vacuum? At first I thought it would likely entrain air in the oil but then I realized there shouldn’t be any air in there to entrain so maybe it doesn’t matter.

Edit to add: By check valve I mean adding a check valve between the return circuit of the main lifting cylinders and the extending port of the apron cylinder to allow the returning oil to make up for the additional volume required.
