Zabcikville, TX | I bought "ol red" in 2010. An '08 F-150 4-door, XLT, with 22,000 miles. She's done me right, never left me stranded. I bought a new Ranger in March, thinking I would drive ol' red every now and then. She can't sit here any longer. But the memories of that pickup will stick with me forever. The days/nights of my wife and I just driving backroads and talking, figuring out our new marriage.the dinosaur stickers on the dash. The fake moustache stickers on the dash. The stains in the seats, the dent from hitting a cow on the road, and the miles and miles I've traveled back and forth from home to gins all over our state to haul cotton. The camping trips with my son, picking the kids up, and dropping them off. Too many to list. I've got a good/fair offer for the old gal. I'll miss her, but will allow her to be of use to someone else. But, never thought it would feel like this. I can sell the steel, plastic, and rubber. The memories are priceless, and can never be sold or forgotten. | |
