Illinois | This is on a Kubota M9000 tractor, and I have fought the issue for a couple years. I initially had high pressure readings over 300 psi, and cleaning the condenser and reducing the amount of freon in the system seemed to have cured the problem, but not for long.
The system will run fine for about 3 minutes then it cycles off, and switching off the compressor and back on after a couple minutes will repeat the process. On an 85 degree day at 1200 engine rpms, the low pressure reading is 50 psi, and the high pressure needle vibrates badly but is about 275 psi. At 2000 engine rpms, low pressure drops to 35 and high pressure stays at 275 with a smoothed out needle. The gauges hold those readings even if the cooling stops.
Ideas? Expansion valve bad? | |
