You are correct. But I personally have changed my buying preferences wherever possible. No more China products if I can get them anywhere else.
I told tire dealer only non-China tires. He rolled his eyes a little but I bought one USA made steer tire and two drive tires made in Thailand. No more Harbor Freight, ever. Norther Tool I bought air hose reel from India, and hose from USA. New air compressor; pump from India, electric motor from Mexico, tank from USA. Last GPS equipment I bought every component said Made in USA (Wheelman/AgJunction) Wife just bought new dinner plates made in USA.
Can't always have choice like when it comes to smartphone or other household electronics. But I will always choose Korea, Thailand, India, Mexico before I choose China. I don't see those countries as our enemy. China is our enemy.
