24 row will leave skips when it comes out of the ground on terraces. (8-8-8)

The 16 almost never comes out of the ground on terraces. (5-6-5)

Non-NT planters are much better crossing terraces than NT planters. They don’t transport nearly as well but since the transport tires are closer to the flex points on the planter they don’t lift as many rows out of the ground when you go over a terrace.

This means a 16 row non-NT such as a John Deere 1770 is the best you can get for terraces other than maybe a 6 row or smaller planter.

That being said, every other aspect of the narrow transport frame is far superior to the non-narrow transport frames. I really don’t know that a non-narrow transport frame is worth the hassle even in extreme terraces.
