West central Ohio | We have a 2705 with 24 speed transmission. If you take it to a dealer it will cost more than tractors worth. A 2705 in decent running condition will bring $5-7000 around here. Maybe less now that last 2 Massey dealers within hour's drive have closed. Most that get repaired get 24 speed guts taken out and made into straight 8 speed transmission. Aren't any junk yard parts donors around any more, not to mention no mechanics that know how to rebuild the transmission. Lot of those tractors went to salvage by 2-3000 hours because of transmission issues. Biggest problem is downshifting to slow down while towing a load on highway. Perkins engines are good and run pretty trouble free for lot of hours. | |
