North of London | No cows but I used to have swine, farrow to finish.
Not quite as demanding of timelines but still had to get out and about.
I do still have a snow clearing route and always surprises me how many times I can shut the alarm off before it goes off and wakes my wife too and that is usually around 2-3 am on those days it is snowy
Early morning is certainly nice but also nice to know you don't have to roll out, or even set the alarm, when you do not want to.
One advantage of being semi retired, at least most days.
BTW clear the snow from the neighbours who do have a few hundred cows.
Go to sons place first and make sure he can get out and down the road then to dairy farm.
If I am much after 4am I will find footsteps through the snow and then the sons vehicle will need a parking place so I know what you say.
