They are pretty much the standard in man lifts in that vintage.

They are pretty solid. Once in a great while one can pop a head gasket, but pretty much just run. Having said that I have a 3 cylinder in a manlift here that spun a bearing the other day....... :(

They are also noisy. The fuel injected gas engines are great and some lifts will have a Perkins diesel which is a lot quieter than the Duetz......

Most manlifts like that will have a bolt or 2 or a latch where you can swing the engine out a couple feet so you can get to the backside for service.
