Subject: RE: Any luck killing Russian olive

Southeast Ohio
I suffer the same problem. I've had them removed with an excavator - didn't work. They grew back. Only method I've seen work is a cut stump treatment with combo of Garlon 4, Basal oil and Chopper. I think the mix was 24%, 74%, 1% of those chems in that order.

I had an area cleaned up this spring with a forestry mulcher that I will try to keep clear of Russian re growth. We will see how that goes. I"ve foliar sprayed Russian Olive, but it seems like you have to have 100% coverage with a high rate of Roundup with crop oil . Miss a spot and she's still alive.

I have a huge problem with this stuff and I will be an expert by the time I have it cleaned up on my farm ( I will also be an old man by that time!)
