Lac qui Parle County Minnesota | We went to the calmers about four years ago. We usually would follow up with the DMI afterwards. Last year we were running behind with everything being late. A neighbor has run calmers and always just disked afterwards. He said it looks like it doesn’t do much but was always able to run through it with the field cultivator. I switched and ran over everything with the disk last fall. After we finished, I wasn’t sure how it would work. The calmers really chop up the stalk into silage like confetti. This spring I went in with the field cultivator and really didn’t have any problems at all. The soybeans came up with an excellent stand. I like it so much I’m going to sell my dmi and buy a better disk. I also like that I can run over my corn ground much faster and it’s a lot easy on the equipment.
