MN | I've put about 20k miles on one in the last year as my daily driver. It gets the job done without noticeably lacking in most situations. I am sure that being paired with an 8-speed transmission helps with that as well. Mashing the go-pedal to the floor will not make you smile quite as obnoxiously as doing so will with the hemi, but I've never felt unsafe when I've asked it for some more to pass other traffic. I've only done a couple trips of light towing with it, and it does fine with that, but if you're doing a lot of towing or heavy towing, it might not be the best choice.
The top end mileage is only 1, maybe 2 mpg better than the Hemi, so that's not a huge money saver, but it does allow you to burn E85 if you like doing that. Yes it will decrease your mileage, but as long as the E85 is 30-40 cents cheaper than regular, it calculates out to about $8 saved per 1000 miles driven: again not a huge money saver. So the largest opportunity for the v6 to actually save money over the v8 is probably in the purchase price, but if you are selling/trading within a few years, expect to see it again on the back side. If you are looking to drive it until the wheels fall off, you MAY be able to argue some longevity positives for the pentastar, but you'll probably find just as many people to tell you there isn't.
I personally have no qualms about the pentastar in this this pickup, but for the next trade-up I'll probably go back to the Hemi mainly because I'm still a dumb kid at heart and occasionally enjoy some obnoxious acceleration or wearing a few hundred miles off the back tires in a few feet.
