Go with the 17.5 tires
Finding a tire easily is a moot point. You never need one with the 17.5 tires..............
I have them on 2 trailers now. My 16k tiltbed 'car' trailer is 4 years old, probably has 30k miles on it and still has the tires on it when it was new. I would have been probably on my 3 set of 16" tires by now by past experience...... and not one flat!
