Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I can't say for NW Kansas, but with our long growing season if we can get pollination late as possible while still reaching maturity the better off. August on average is our wettest month, and generally start cooling off by then. Still have enough time to mature before frost around the end of October.
Few guys were able to plant really early in April and it is already past pollination in this 100° heat. Burned up. Late June and most of July is always hot, and this year is following that same pattern.
