Coaldale, Alberta, Canada | Canada's death rate (all causes) is 7.7/1000 per year. US rate is 8.8/1000. Don't know why that is, age, general health, etc, but that is a significant difference at the starting point. Also, I think it possible that higher infection rate will lead to earlier herd immunity, which would be a good thing. Initially, the lockdown was to flatten the curve and give medical system more time to deal with it. Seems that has gone by the wayside and now the goal is to not get sick at all. Seems unreasonable, still watching Sweden. H |
