| What typically happens with unused accrued vacation time when you quit your job?
I have no policy on this for my employees. My employee quit a few weeks ago (as amicably as such a thing can be). He had used something like 70% of his yearly allotted vacation pay when he quit.
The perspective I lean towards is that he used more than half of his vacation time and worked half the year so it’s probably about right but if businesses normally pay all vacation time out when an employee quits then I would do that instead.
Anyone know what’s normal?
