Coworker of my wife was going to do that, her family kinda sorted it out better. She was from an Asian country not that that matters, nice lady but she only looked forward but didn’t plan ahead either. When she retired she was going to head to California, just close the house door and walk away. Wasn’t going to put any affairs in order.

My brother in law would could do something like that, he is the type that chases balloons or squirrels, easily distracted, if it’s not on his mind today then it’s not important and will get lost or forgotten in the moment.

Not saying I understand, but I’ve seen hints of that type of behavior.

In the house case maybe a child or spouse was lost and it was too painful to deal with just left in the past somehow?
