South Texas
I have a 24’ triple axle, my brother has a 24’ tandem axle. I can have 10 year old tires and no trouble, brother cannot. Mine has 6 lug axles while his has 8 lug, and his actually came with triples but he dropped one off when he rebuilt it. 16s on both. Here now it is pretty much standard for 24’ trailers to have tandem axles and 17.5s, and most 28’ as well.

My other brother is a contractor, runs 17.5s on everything, but they’re mostly super cheap 215s because he orders the trailers with them, and Texas trailer manufacturers only use the cheapest tires. Blows out quite a few of them. If I remember right, when 17.5s became popular here they were 235s, and for sure mine were. Still got a set on a dump trailer over 10 years old. Get the 235s.
