Subject: RE: Help with setting up Airlink RV50

To use the settings in the fm1000 you need a Genuine Trimble modem (GX450 or RV55). The Genuine modem has a software patch on it that allows it to communicate via the RTKLNK or TSIP protocol either by Serial port, USB, or Ethernet cable to various trimble displays and receivers.

If this is a modem provided by an NTRIP RTK provider. They will have put there own sofware patch on it and be able to provide you with instructions to setup the fm1000 serial ports to match the RV50's port settings.

If you have just purchased the RV50 as a generic unit with no patches in it then you will not be able to get this to work as a NTRIP modem. ie. Website, port number, Username, password, mountpoint etc. If you have your own base and a modem on the base end you can setup a TCP/IP live link between the two modems and you will be able to receive your correction. Then Configure RTK to external modem. select baud and signal type.
